Sometimes really great musicians find original music and they do it better. It works when the musician doing it is really good.

A couple examples of some of my favorite musicians that did this are Nirvana and Nick Cave.

Nirvana covering Shocking Blue's "Love Buzz", and Devo's "Turnaround"

Nick Cave covering Leonard Cohen "Avalanche"

I don't get long hair on guys. They all look like ugly women.

How 'bout the ones that wear makeup? Not like Kiss or Twisted sister back in the day, cosmetic makeup like eyeliner, lipstick, and that face powder stuff whatever they call it. To each their own but it's not for me.

I was so glad back in the 80's when all the heavy hair bands got rid of the Make up, I don't mind the long hair, if you can wear it with some style, but as for the make up, that was just bad, especially since they wore more make up than I did. Let's not forget about the spandex pants and neon colors. Also, you have to remember that at the time of hair and make up, video was killing the radio star. I stopped watching MuchMusic and MTV, just because I wanted to hear the music, before seeing the video. There are still bands today that I have no idea what they look like, just because the music was more important then the video.
