Oh goodness how I hate that footage.
Like you pointed out, this hasn’t much to do with hunting. Wonder why this video hasn’t received more attention by the Antis?

it really depends on how you look at it...is it 'hunting' or is it 'pest control'...people who are not effected by the destruction caused by feral hogs don't really see and feel things that people who are effected feel... now, using a mini gun in a wide open area on animals, no...bad ideal...

well it wasn't even that effective, he got like 3 pigs with probably about 400-500 rounds and previously caught and pen released pigs at that.

I wonder if they are like yotes in the sence that shooting them is a loosing battle. i once read a book that stated that if you kill a coyote or a number of coyotes in one area if conditions are right it puts the females into like a "super heat" and they tend to have bigger litters. apparently this is an evolution thing from them getting millions of years of hammer from wolves

it happens with rabbits as well hence the development of myxomatosis. They tried to get them infected in the warrens nest area. they are becoming immune to that too and the results are quite nasty the disease now just weakens them to a prolonged death by starvation

There must be more effective ways obviously. Trapping for example?

i don't see an issue with this, as outrider said. Its more like pest control then hunting, they do nothing but damage.
Yes, they are pigs like wild boar but the difference between the 2 is night and day.
Wild boar seem to be more calmed down, hogs on the other hand.... well i've seen videos of them eating eggs and meat.. still a pig

Wild boar breed multiple times a year and 1 sow can have 2 litters for a total between 1 to 12 hogs a year.
Not sure how many piglets hogs have a year but im sure its more, Texas has an estimated 2.5 million hogs that cause about $50 million in agriculture damage per year.

That wasn't hunting, more like target practice. Looked like some escaped.

Doesn't look very effective. With feral hogs I guess use whatever it takes to get rid of them.

What works is trapping and removal. Isolated elder members of the groups will have to be shot since they often avoid traps but in most cases it more effective. The next closest thing is to shoot females before males.
