What's this in top of the huntermate screen?

Hi guys.
I was browsing some website and I search theHunter in one of the shopping websites.
I found a retail version of the game(2013). I look into the gallery and I see this:


What is that in the top of the huntermate screen?
I play this for few years but I didn't see that before.

I've played since the beginning & I don't ever recall the HM looking like that.

Then you haven't played since the very beginning haha. Those bars up top used to be an indication of sound, how much noise you were making. Obviously the lower the better lol. If I recall, it also was supposed to indicate how loud an animal's call was, I don't think it worked properly at the time tho.

Ahh yes, I remember that whole noise mechanic. They later decided to hide that from the player, which was probably the right thing to do.

Agree. But then the audible sounds should more accurately reflect the amount of noise you are making.

Definitely. If you're going to have hidden sound mechanics, then the game's sound levels should reflect that. There's definitely room for improvement there.
