My oldest son (36) & you would get along great musically.\m/ wrote:Dont know if its for todays youth, im a bit to old to call myself youth .
Music-genre started in the early 80s, but its not mainstream like f.e. pop or rock or folk. (no offence)
I like all kinds of music,.. except for classical doesn't do nothing for me... I never got in a groove for that!
But to each his own as I always say............

I liked them when I was young (really young)..... and I remember my sisters going crazy over them when they (the Beatles) first came to America! I couldn't see all the fuss going on about them!SoftShoe wrote:As I age I find I like them (the Beatles) better now then when I was young.
I still listen to them because my wife likes to listen to the oldies (through Alexa voice control system).......
So mostly I hear is "Alexa play oldies"......... and the first song usually to start playing is a Beatles song like I want to hold your hand......
And when she walks out of the room I can always say "Alexa Stop".............

M! .... Good to see you brother! .... or I could call you my son too ~ But I'm 29 forever myself ... So the rumors of your recent demise are greatly exaggerated I see
... I see dead people .....
My metal days are late 70s through the 80's to early 90's. None of the music we listened to was on the radio. We went to record stores and look for the craziest and wildest looking dudes, longest hair and Marshall stacks we knew it was what we wanted. That's how we picked up the debut Motley Crue album, it had it all- long hair, little makeup, pentagram, and on the album it said "This music is designed to be listened to on 10 so loud the paint falls off the walls" .... Yeah, pretty much a sale
Today it's not as much fun, you got everything out there with the internet it kind of robs us today of the whole mystery of how it used to be done. We also had MTV that would do off the wall stuff

In my youth (early 90s) we also had a few local music-stores here, and we bought the cds which our parents would dislike. Today with internet its ok for me to check out unknown bands first on youtube and co, but i much more enjoy concerts/festivals with ALWAYS friendly and straight metalheads.Radamus wrote: I see dead people .....
