Re: Handguns | 10mm Semi-Automatic Pistol
Rated: Good
Pros
*Good balance of Power, Penetration, & Range
*9 rounds in a magazine / 20 rounds per box of ammunition
*Semi-Automatic action allows for quick follow-up shots
*Can mount a red dot optic
*Fairly steady aim
*Detailed and accurate representation of the in-game model
Cons
*No magnified optics
*Heaviest pistol and ammunition (Pistol: 1.5 + Ammo: 0.6 = 2.1)
*Noticable bullet flight time
*Large spook range for sidearms (similar to shotguns spook range?)

Comments
This is my go-to pistol every expedition I go on.
Deer, Elk, and Hogs have been taken fairly quickly inside 35m.
Outside of 35m, bullet flight time should be considered so a decent lead should be added for moving targets
20 rounds a box make the 10mm one of the more "cost efficient" weapon/ammunition platform in the game next to shotguns (birdshot), .17HMR, & .22LR.
The generous species list ranges from coyote thru elk, similar to the .44MAG, adds to the versatility of the firearm but there are trade-offs to consider between the two platforms.
Do you go for range and accuracy (.44MAG) or ammunition and speed (10mm)?
Personally, I mainly use the 10mm to take down females or lower scoring animals that get into range so I can save my rifle bullets for those long shots.
I found the cartridge to be pretty forgiving; almost any shot that penetrates organs will be a kill.
There may be a long blood trail, but it'll produce results nonetheless.
For those wondering of the IRL counterpart I believe the 10mm is based on the frame and slide of a Remington R1 10mm Hunter with tritium sights of a Springfield Armory 1911 TRP Operator Longslide.

Mule Deer, quartering towards, from 43.88m. You would think lungs, but it registered as Intestines.
Be sure to lead the target!

Love this pistol, especially with the red dot sight. I rated as excellent, for a wide range of species and relative costs.

Re: Handguns | 10mm Semi-Automatic Pistol
Just had a heart pounding encounter with a 298 kg (658 lbs) male brown bear on Hemmeldal this morning.
I thought I could share it in story form.
Disclaimer: 10mm is NOT PERMITTED for taking Brown Bears in the EHR (but it will stop them)

10mm Saves Hunter from Charging Brown Bear
I got a request from Laura today for a male and female lynx.
This is possibly the hardest mission I've been sent on in over 2 weeks, but the 1000 gm$ reward matches the work.
So I geared up and set out before dusk into the Hemmeldal wilderness.
I decided on taking my 12GA O/U, .223 bolt action, and 10mm pistol for this expedition.
After half an hour, I was hundreds of meters from camp and hundreds more meters from where I know lynx like to roam in the mountains.
I was focused on listening for the soft mews and agitated growls of those felines all the while trying to avoid spooking anything else.
A few more moments of trekking the snow-laden landscape, I rounded over a hill crest.
To my utter surprise, I heard to my left a deep, guttural ROAR.
I don't know how I could miss hearing or seeing something so big, but as I turned left, a big, brown Bruin got up on it's hind legs and ROARED again.
"Oh s***" I thought.
My 12GA was loaded with only 2 shells of buckshot for Lynx and there was no time to swap to slugs.
I know I can't run the bolt on the .223 fast enough to take down a bear, so my only real option was my 10mm.
So I dropped my huntermate, and drew my 10mm from its holster and started walking backwards and took aim.
*BANG*
A shot rings out as I'm walking back and hits the bruin.
The bear drops back down on all fours and begins charging right at me full speed.
Seems that shot just angered them more.
*BANG*
Another shot rings out and hits the bear, but the beast is still barreling towards me at full speed.
"S***, s***, s***!" is all that was going through my mind.
"This is the end."
*BANG*
...
*THUD*
As I'm about to mash on the trigger one more time, I realize the beast's body just is a mountain of fur and muscle, snout buried in the snow covered forest floor a few meters in front of me.
"F***!" I gasped to myself, trying to calm down after such an adrenaline pumping encounter.
Recovering myself, I collect my huntermate and report the kill to the EHR wardens.
Though thoroughly shook by almost being mauled by a bear, I successfully completed my mission for Laura and bagged a pair of lynx.
When I got back to the lodge Doc gave me an earful on permitted ammo, but I'm just glad it wasn't me lying face down in the dirt.

Noticeable bullet flight time and No magnified optics are the 2 reasons why I don't use this gun in normal hunts. This gun is much better in deer drives because you reload fast and can fire a lot of ammo before having to change the ammo in inventory.

Rates excellent.
Really fun you feel like hitman 47 or something.
I must say I dont really find a use for it. Seem to always carry a rifle or bow or even the. 308 handgun that can replace it and do a better job. But cheap ammo though redundant and the bondfactor make me want to carry it just because.

Oh, yes. I completely forgot about 47th's signature silver ballers. Who knows, maybe we'll get premium silver variant of 10mm handgun someday. That would be nice.knott wrote:Rates excellent.
