I think you are right about the range, i went to test it with Pheasants and work like a charm, i even got an airborne Pheasant and a Goose, very nice little side-weapon to carry around.

Very poor, does not kill geese with even 2 hits sometimes.
Also nearly impossbile to hit flying ducks with it, probably just my bad aim.
