Re: Rifles | 9.3x62 Anschütz 1780 D FL Bolt Action Rifle
In my opinion it's excellent.
The engraved one is one of the most gorgeous rifles in the game. While it's not the easiest rifle to shoot, it really has the power to stop everything on their tracks - even on long ranges. I don't really agree with the drop off of power over 150-200 meters. Also, my ears are pleased by its sound.
I would choose this over the 8x57 every day of the week.

Rated Poor.
It´s hard to handle at any skill level due to it´s weight. It´s killing power over distance is not as great as you would expect. It´s ugly and don´t sound as good as the 8x57 or later rifles with the exception of the muted K98K.
It take up a lot of storage space. There is more then a handful better rifles out there that do the job.

When "personal bests" will be back as they used to be, i'll provide a list of bears (brown and black) killed with this rifle, from 180-220 meters. And are quite a few!

@JackRbbt Well don't know if the ballistics update effected this weapon are not but i shot a red deer last night right under 200M and only got a single lung hit on it. To me the power of this rifle falls off at longer ranges. Out to 100m to around 150m yeah its a hammer after that not so much.

Well put. Fully agree.HooCairs wrote:Rated "Good".
A strong rifle with reliable killing on even the largest species in the game, but the rifle is unstable. The availability of a 12x is great but doesn't help with the stability. Hard to shoot but great to kill so to speak.
The Engraved version is a beauty btw.

Didn't used it lately at long distance (i am competing in "Gotta Get Them All" competition and 9.3x62 can be used only on elk). But i will go and try to shot a brown bear from around 200 meters and i'll let you know.snakeyes32 wrote:@JackRbbt Well don't know if the ballistics update effected this weapon are not but i shot a red deer last night right under 200M and only got a single lung hit on it. My favorite rifle. I would love to have one in real life.
Yes the wobble drives me nuts too. I've never shook that much with a rifle.

Rated avarege. I'd say it's more of: 3.5 - between average and good.
I used to like it a lot untill I discovered that there are many better guns available. Stopping power is great, great selection of scopes. But overall I find this gun unreliable - too much sway.
You need to go prone for almost every shot if you want to be accurate. At long ranges it becomes slightly unpredictable.
Sounds good, looks great (talking about premium version).
