Bloody useless. I refuse to enter the 308 V Red stag any more. Considering the fact that its ammo was introduced as well capable of taking down moose at its release, it has since been so badly downgraded that it will now only single lung a Red broadside at 20m.

I like how this rifle looks, sounds and feels. But ammunition ruins this and other .308 weapons, if only .308 had similar power that 6.5x55 has this would be excellent mid size rifle.

I like the rifle and hate the ammo. Rated it poor due to ammo .

Rifle is beautiful but the ammo ruins it. Would use it more if the ammo was better.

I only use them to do certain missions. You have to aim very precisely but if you want to train your Scent Hound ... this weapon is excellent for that.

Ahahah...sure that to define "excellent" the 308 Anshutz or you have the heart of a lion or you are a madman maybe you have to be both, then forget the hound who should be followed by a social worker given the problems it presents (Uhu? Huh?) ...

After todays update: Excellent. A quick hunt i did i shot 2 boars.
1. At 137.39 meters hit both lungs and shoulder blade. Wound time: 4.2 seconds.
2. At 164.7 meters hit one lung and shoulder blade. Wound time: 7.6 seconds.
With these results and the rifle having 5 shots its easily going to be one of my favorite.
I always liked the looks of it but it was useless. Now things have changed. :)
Still need to test it on bears.

*.308 Nosler Partition - Rifle Edition Update*

After the .308 ammo update, this 500em$ (8500gm$) rifle just became my go-to suggestion for general-purpose, large game, hunting rifle.
  • Least expensive base price in it's class
  • Second lightest ammo in its class
  • Standard rifle weight
  • Wide range of optical options
  • Fulfills several mission requirements

Even poor shot placement, like this gut shot, becomes less of a chore with this new and improved .308 load

Is there a way to retroactively change my vote? I voted average due to poor ammo performance but with the update it's become a lot better. I'd rate it good to excellent now. Both lungs on a red deer over 220 meters, bullet drop was maybe 10, 15cm. Dropping wild boars within seconds from 150m+. With its new capabilities it has become a really versatile, reliable gun.

I think the whole thread should be archived with a notion that says the version up to now was rated. Then create a new one. Same goes for the other two .308s.
