Yuuup! It's official (Places to Remember) ...

Post by BearJohnson »

Hey guys/gals!

I have come to the conclusion that I hate ducks and the swamps they live in.

I have been attempting the travel mission "Places To Remember" for hours now.

Not only can I not spot a mallard - but my frustration level with traversing the swamps has met its limit.

Perhaps I need to self medicate...

Attn admin - I JUST saw a "Missions" forum... plz change this post to that forum.

Apart from the fact it has to be a Mallard swimming, not flying, just listen with your GPS for the call, near large waterways.
It has a 1 in 4 chance of being the right duck.
keep trying, if you wish to.
Good Luck.

Fantastic idea! I'm a huge proponent of this strategy while living in The Hunter :D

Kinarr nailed it for you- So the ducks, in order to spot them have to do one of 2 things, break for landing, you need to catch swimming or flying off and hit them with the spotting scope so you can get a spot box to pop up before they are too far away. I have to say though, the swamps, and I used to feel the same as you, they aren't near as bad today compared the rivers in TGT or PB, those are on the top of my %%%% list for crossing water- those reserves make RB a cake walk, all except for the Ninja Pigs

I have met those pigs...

Hint: ALWAYS have your pump shotgun loaded with slugs and on speed dial when in pig or bear country!

In this missions concentrate on hard part of mission (if you dont want buy some ducks decoy) -

First of all Start at Whispering Woods Lodge....

and than search for Mallard. Dont run and listen. They sometime break. If you have no luck restart your game and you will be not frustrated you have done so much from mission... and repeat. When you finally spot Mallard continue with other things - i think it will be piece of cake for you than. But remember in this missions pack will be more ducks awaiting you...

For example 3:
Start at L'île du Canard Noir.
Then arrive at Fort Stillwater Watchtower (x -3797, y 8754) in the same hunt.
At any point during the same hunt, spot a Mallard.
At any point during the same hunt, harvest a Mallard that was shot while airborne.
At any point during the same hunt, harvest a Mallard that was shot while swimming

Im mean this is nearly impossible when you have only shotgun and no decoy and blind.

You can always join a multiplayer game on RB that has a full setup, and shoot one airborne. Or harvest one that someone else shoots. In missions (all of them) there is no requirement that you shoot it, just harvest it.
