My suspicion is that it was meant to say "a single shot into the lungs" and got lost in formulation or translation.

high skill on recurve and long bow ? )) You make me laugh ! I have 2 at recurve and I even didn't buy a longbow.... Who hunts with them ? People usually hunt with Snakebite and Parker, me included. Only the very old members or hardcore bowmen have high skill there so this is not a real challenge because there are no equal conditions for all to achieve this goal. Here is where developers blundered big time !

While the weapon skill certainly does help to a certain extend, I wouldn't at all consider it crucial. It's a rather minor difference, especially when it comes to this very mission.

On the contrary. The goal was to create a very difficult mission that not everybody would be able or willing to finish.
I think they met that goal quite nicely!

This is imho opinion not true all dedicated bow hunters i know hunt most likely with recurve/longbow. And this is a mission special designed for the veterans and they should be good with all weapons imo.

And there is no need to do the mission if you dont like it

Just can't complete pheasant mission. Try shot it from front and from back, no luck... seriously, this is most difficult bonus mission for me Any tips?

That is what I've been doing. I just have not enough luck on that mission I guess
