I have experienced this bug too. I think It might happen if a tent is placed near a treestand and then the treestand is removed or something like that?! I spawned on a tent, In a MP game and the message popped up and would not disappear. I quit, then rejoined the game on another spawn, Walked back to the first tent and the message popped up again, But disappeared when I walked away from the tent/area.

In this MP hunt: VdB 2015-02-02 10:42 CET - 2015-02-02 12:40 CET today
Viper and I went out fore some Rabbits.
I had a treestrand in a tree from an earlyere hunt, the one before this one, -
After around 5 min(RL) I desided to take down the treestand and time after I dismantled it Viper got the Beaver message in the gosttype-like-writing in upper left corner. He told me this on skype and the unclear writing disapeared after a couples of minutes.

I was the host of the game and it was only a message in writing, - I experiensed nothing regarding the treestand/inventory and used the treestand later in the game without any problems.

A friend had the same bug. By then there was not even any tree stand on the map. But 1 tree stand had been placed by another player earlier but picked up much time before message showed up.

It's back.

Settler's Creek MP. Host places tree stand 'legally'; second player joins and the beaver message pops up. The host's map does not now show the tree stand and the tree stand returns to the inventory. The client player can still see the tree stand on the map, and still use it.

edit: The client/guest player can stand crouch a couple of times then walk out of the tree stand in the air for quite some distance. Quite groovy but not realistic!
