Assuming that BRR and PBB are modeled after environments in the southern hemisphere, shouldn't the sun's path favor the northern edges of the map?
Unless the entire EHR archipelago is located in the northern hemisphere of the planet, then disregard.
Just a thought that popped up during today's trek through Piccabeen Bay

I noticed this too. But I believe the answer is the fact that EHR isn't situated anywhere on the map as we know it. EHR is fictional, done after enviroments we know, but without any concrete localization.

Yet the EHR is obviously in the northern hemisphere of whatever fictional planet it exists.
The sun should also be much lower in the winter reserves and higher in the summer. This might actually help with the blinding glare on WRR in the middle of the day.
The day should also be shorter in the winter.

Re: Bushrangers Run & Piccabeen Bay | Sun's Path
The only thing that says it's in the northern hemisphere is the Sun's behaviour, the rest plus the fact that it combines reserves that are so close to each other but so different, some of them can't even exist in the northern hemisphere, says locating it somewhere has no point. Not with one Sun, one Moon and the "eartish" like planet doing the regular spins around the Sun and it's own axis.

Re: Bushrangers Run & Piccabeen Bay | Sun's Path
This opens up an opportunity to create truly unique sceneries through each reserves just by changing the lighting.
If we look at the map of the EHR and think of it as a exaggerated projection of EW's version of Earth, then we can draw an equator across the middle.
In this case, Rougarou Bayou, Bushrangers Run, and Piccabeen Bay are considered to be in the Southern hemisphere, while the rest are in the north or on the equator.

So maybe not have an equator, but the EHR is kinda like Westworld/Futureworld/Jurassic Park, where environments can be whatever EW & RS wants.Dubitabilus wrote:This opens up an opportunity to create truly unique sceneries through each reserves just by changing the lighting.

Alternatively, player's can "lock" the time of day the same way the "Halloween event" or "Christmas event" lock's the time.
Or maybe not lock the time of day, but offer the option to have the world rotate in "real time" instead of "double-time" (1 tHC Minute = 30 IRL seconds).
Effects that depend on game-time (scents/calls/face paint/hyperthermia/hypothermia/etc...) would not be affected, but the sun moves at relatively half the speed we are used to.
