Elk cow call

Post by BigGameHunter7 »

I think an Cow call would be great to get big bulls close into you and be more fun to hunt with.

LOL..
in terms of actual caller that sounds like an Elk Cow you already have one.
The elk bugle caller can do both male and female calls,
Hold the caller for 2-4 seconds is a male call
Hold the caller for 0-1 second sound just like a cows call

I'm going to Disagree, its way to low pitch to be a cow call!! Cow calls are a higher pitched sound, and the bugle just cannot do that. An cow mouth call would be better, and sound more realistic. But I do see what you are saying Bulls do have a high pitched sound but cows are even higher.

i think it would be a good feature because you have two different deer calls as well.

Both deer call's function the exact same way one's just free for when you start and IMO an annoying sounding one at that. That's why i bought the other one but you can use either one and get the same results.

I don't really think it's necessary, honestly. The only way I'd approve of having a cow call in game was if it functioned to lure both cows and bulls together, just like the bugle call.

The whole point of female animals in the game are to serve as "first warning systems" and sentries. Where's the challenge if you can just lure in the big bull and all the females stay put?

going a bit off topic but all the calls we have now are generic press the mouse and it will walk to you. if the callers had sweet spots it would make calling way more interesting. i was in a duck blind a while back with some random and he had the grunt caller and was just holding it down, and it sounded like a broken vacuum cleaner but the whitetail still came into the call it was so daft.

if there was some system in place where say a totally botched call would spook the animal, an ok 1 would bring in smaller trophy's and 1 that hit the sweet spot would get the interest of big trophy animals. or something along those lines. maybe make a few where you can produce gender specific calls and stuff. would add a great deal of depth to calls, trying to get them right and so on.
