Hey guys/gals!
Noob here, playing as guest until my money comes in on the first of the month - then member, better guns & gear.
I just checked the "animals free to hunt"... Bison.
Bison... cool? not in my opinion.
Bison are not "free" to hunt. My research shows that 243 or 12 gauge are not permitted for Bison.
I think that the "animals free to hunt" should include only animals that can be taken with the 243 or 12 gauge.
To the guest player - ALL animals are huntable, IF license and gear is purchased.
But that is NOT free.
Can you take the Bison off the list and replace it with an animal that is permitted to be taken with 243 or 12 gauge please?
OK - Imma go drop some whitetails and coyotes!
I'll check back for answers later.
Thanks for lookin!

They are free to hunt, you just can't shoot them. You are, of course FREE to buy a permitted weapon, so I guess...technically speaking..

The free species rotate, so next week they will be different...

Indeed, there is not too deep logic in allowing a muzzleloader driven by slow black powder but not allowing modern 12GA slugs for the same animal.

yeah Tod1d just a suggestion.
Definitely NOT a "more free stuff for free players" post - I am NOT advocating not paying - of all the games I have ever played this one is worthy of my money.
It just made no sense to me that the free animal was a Bison

I'd still love to see gun 'rentals.' I think more players would like to be able to try weapons out before buying, and it'd also have some incentive to try new ones we'd maybe not have considered purchasing, which might draw us into buying them later. Like if the free species is a bison, offer free use for the week of one gun that can take them.
@BearJohnson - it's exactly why I got into bowhunting in this game. I'm not exactly flowing with cash and I figured I'd get a weapon that could kill anything (and I do love the traditional feel & skill requirements for bows), so I got a heavy recurve and went hunting. Wasn't easy with no callers But at least you can shoot anything with a bow.
