More 12GA shotshell

Post by _dfad_ »

It would be very easy to extend an 'offer' of 12GA ammo in the game shop. This task does not require a lot of work, and also does not require to modify any existing weapon - only their compatibility lists.

1. 3½ shells.

These ammo shots about 2x more single projectiles, or in a case of a slug it gives about 30-40% higher speed than 'regular' 2¾ shells that we use in TheHunter currently, and correspondingly up to twice higher number of hits at the same distance, or twice higher energy of a slug and more flat trajectory.
In the game, this should allow to reduce the percentage of cases when you hit an animal multiple times before it falls. Remember that moose slug competition few months ago? I'd say it was not too ethical with existing slugs.

They are also 2x-3x more expensive than `regular' shotshells, and compatible with some shotguns only. One good example if someone wonders is Stoeger P3000 vs P3500 shotgun series. This should be reflected in the game too, particularly:
- 2x-3x more expensive than 'regular' 2¾ shells in the game.
- Few shotguns only allow usage of these. The main factor here are the specifications of real prototypes of modelled guns, but for simplification we can give this possibility to premium versions of shotguns, except Blaser F3 that is not compatible IRL not depending on engraved stock.
- Much higher recoil, if ammo parameters allow to define this in the game, and no reworking of the guns is necessary.

2. 3&9, or 7&BB combo shot

These are marketed as premium waterfowl ammo IRL, and this is easy to be reflected in the game.
These are also more expensive than regular birdshot or buckshot.

In the game, this could work as below:
- It hits with amount of ½ of regular birdshot projectiles at birdshot effective distance PLUS ½ of regular buckshot projectiles at buckshot effective distance.
- Has animal compatibility list as birdshot has, but is not allowed for ptarmigans and is allowed for arctic fox.
- Price also is higher proportionally.
- Not compatible with basic 12 GA SS shotgun.
- Some higher recoil.

3. Pest control shot shell to hunt mice and scorpios.

Just kidding guys. :) Pictured is .44 pest control ammo, the biggest one available IRL as far as I know. :)
