I would much rather see a classic German Drilling. That meaning the shotgun barrels in 16 gauge. 12 gauge Drillings are often heavy and unwieldy.
I'd vowe to make the rifle barrel in a classic German caliber as well:

- Maybe the 9,3x72R, also known as .360 Nitro Express 2 3/4 inch. A common caliber in pre-war hammer drillings and Drillings with a round bascule.
- Or the 7x57R Mauser. It's like a beefed up 6,5x55 and most common in post WW2 Drillings.
- The 8x57IR, a .318 diameter bullet on a rimmed 8x57 Infanterie casing. Used by famous hunter and adventurer Max Hinsche on his Yukon expedition. Taking everything from beaver to bear with it.

Of course there are several types of Drillings. I usually seperate them into 3 categories:
Spoiler:
Hammer Drilling. The thing below the gun is a 44cm .22 Magnum insert barrel for the right shotgun barrel.

Drilling with round bascule:

Lastly, the only still prevelant form today, the Drilling with a "box". This one is a Krieghoff Trumpf.
My dad has one just like this and it's that gun that made me such an enthusiast for Drillings.

I agree with you. The Krieghoff "Drilling" with caliber 9.3 × 74mmR would be a dream for THclassic. A great alternative to the caliber .375 H & H mag. I'd wish this caliber for a long time for THclassic.
The 9.3×74mmR, this cartridge is used for CXP2 and CXP3 types of game (medium and heavy animals) and is very popular in Europe for wild boar. Initially designed for large European game like moose, brown bear, and polar bear.
(CXP = controlled expansion performance.)

I would argue, that the .300 H&H Magnum is ill suited for use in a break barrel firearm, as it isn't rimmed, but belted. A good choice would be the ballistically comparable .30R Blaser.
