We are proud to present our first ever live community competition.

The details:
  • Players must enter the draw for a chance to compete.
  • Only four Hunters will be selected.
  • The event will be broadcast Live on Twitch, 4pm CET Thursday the 22nd of February.
  • The contestants must be available on the 22nd from 3:30pm CET to do checks, until 6pm CET.
  • If someone fails to show we will select a Hunter from the Twitch chat.
  • The competition will be Pistol based and will be split into two separate events, each event being an hour long.
  • Competitors must own either a .22 grasshopper or .357 Revolver and either a .44 Magnum or 10mm Pistol.
  • Competitors are encouraged to have/use discord, but this is not essential.
  • We can not be held accountable for other peoples connections and you enter knowing that having a bad connection might hamper your chances of doing well in the competitions.
  • Prizes for first and second will be an unreleased Item, third and fourth will not walk away empty handed.
  • Prizes will be confirmed next Wednesday the 14th.
  • Winners will be selected on Tuesday the 20th at Noon CET.

UPDATE

The first competition as some have guessed is going to be Geese shooting.
I have a map setup with two full decoy spreads with blinds and two people will be in each blind.
At the start of the match I will be using the random number generator again, so people can decide which blind they would like to hunt from.
  • Competition Length is one hour.
  • Geese must be shot while airborne.
  • Highest Total CSS dictates the final placings.
  • Geese must be shot with either the .22 grasshopper or the .357 magnum.
  • Scopes may be used.
The second competition has had to change, but it is all ready to go when the camera is up and ready ;)

Because of the nature of Geese shooting sometimes, I have decided to just make two rounds. After the first hour of shooting we will take a quick break and reload the map. This time the players will switch blind positions and hopefully this gives everyone a fair chance and everyone has the same opportunities.

Like originally stated this competition is the first of its kind and all going to plan they will become a regular event.

The prizes!

1st Place:
The new Inline Muzzleloading Pistol
A hunting tower
Full spread of Geese

2nd Place:
The Inline Muzzleloading Pistol
A Hunting Tower
Half a spread of Geese

3rd Place:
A Hunting Tower
A quarter spread of geese

4th Place:

A Hunting Tower

Cheers All!

TK

Nice ...
- Who is selecting the players ? Is it random ?
- In which reserve will this happen ?
- What species will be hunted ?
- Which EW staff will be there also, in the hunt ?
- All the players selected will be winners , in the end , right ? ;)

- Who is selecting the players ? Is it random ? As players enter, they are assigned a number. Then once the entries have closed, a random number generator is used, the number gets matched to the name. Rinse and repeat till we have 4 :)
- In which reserve will this happen ? TBC ;)
- What species will be hunted ? Specific details will be announced closer to the time
- Which EW staff will be there also, in the hunt ? Just me, not hunting
- All the players selected will be winners , in the end , right ? ;) Yes if you make it into the comp, you will not walk away empty handed.

Nice idea! Though probably not made for most of the working population in Europe or the Americas... :( Would be nice to have those events on a weekend!

Anyway, good luck for everyone who enters! :)

Sadly I must concur with Tanngnjostr. But that is gernerally the problem with the streams of EW. Most people work during the week and cannot participate in these.

4pm CET is about 6:30pm in here! So, not a big problem for me!
I entered. But I hope I could connect to the host if I selected! :D

This is a nice event. Good job EW. ;)

Since the competition luckily is during the norwegian winter vacation I've thrown my name in as well.
Sounds like a cool thing, but I do agree with Tann & Willem, maybe host during a weekend next time?

And I suspect that the first part of the comp. will be either turkey or canada goose, since only those two can be hunted with both the .22 & .357 ;)

One question tho: Those of us with a slightly unstable connection, can we rejoin the server in case we disconnect during the comp.?
