Loss of sound

I keep losing sound when I pause the game or as in this instance when I amended my inventory before going out on a hunt. Normally I can play for about an hour before I lose sound when I pause the game. Once I've lost sound I have to shut the game down completely and wait 5 minutes before I get any sound again.
