First impressions of Gadwall hunting. 1) I don't know who these birds are and apparently neither does spell check cause it keeps underlining their name. Maybe G-a-d-w-e-l-l is a Canadian nickname for bird who loves the swamp. 2) The Gadwall doesn't know who they are either, to call them you first use a Mallard LR caller, then a Comeback caller and finally a Gadwall SR caller that is so wimpy a mouse fart would drowned it out. 3) Those low flyers are not ducks, they are butterflies - bring more ammo!

I second that! Keep at it Smokin1!!
Absolutely! The geese and ducks are an absolute pain in the neck unless you have (or are hunting with someone that has) a setup for them... and sometimes even when you DO have a setup! :?

I remember how hard it was trying to get any of them last year by myself, with no blinds, no decoys, no callers and no dogs. I had to sneak up on them before they flew away, and hopefully pick them off from a distance. Now, I do have setups for all the geese... but even so, after harvesting 54(!!!) magpies in my first attempt, my top geese score only #7 and #8 out of the 10 total harvested by folks in this comp so far! :( Argh!
Working 2 jobs doesn't leave enough time for hunting! :(

Nah, it's just that those Canadians spell things funny, like adding "u"s into words like "color" and "flavor". Heck, they even call round slices of ham "bacon", if you can believe that!

Nope, it ain't ham... it is back bacon. . Our round ham is called Capicola- and it is peppery hot. And it is the Yanks that spell things funny, like removing the "u" s in colour, and flavour. The best English ever is Rooseveltian English, tho'... Respect,

BCKidd.

Here we go again - a bunch of geese, and only a couple that were even in the 7000's. I even got a male that scored under 3900! I didn't know they could fly yet if they were that small!
