Here is a scenario example: I participate and I don't make the top three, so I get .5 pnts, next comp I place 3rd and get 3 pnts now I would have 3.5 pnts, or 6.5 for 1st, 5.5 for 2nd etc. Or I could simply build up to 30 points in .5 increments. Haven't worked out all he details, but I have been thinking everyone who participates should get points, as long as the ROE and requirements are fulfilled. Thoughts? ;) Respectfully,

BCKidd.
I can't really tell what the motivation for each single participant is to join the comps,so this is just my point of view.
I am here mostly for fun and competing with others in a more personal way than those regular comps where it's just a bunch of names and numbers at the end.
I do activate some of them from time to time when there is one fitting the area or the animal i wanna go after .
So for me, i don't mind whatever direction it goes as long as the comps itself stay alive.

For newer / less experienced players or the ones looking at the em$, more points might be more motivational. but 60 competitions for a payout might be to much for them.
If it stays the way it is now . that would be fine aswell.
But i also wouldn't mind completly removing the points and em$ and just play for the fun of it.What is a position on the winners rostrum worth if there were only 3 people battling for it ?
Awesome POV! ;) Respect,

BCKidd.

I agree with what Faultier stated above.

I didn't know this forum competition existed until about 11 months ago. I think there was a promo on the EW News section about a Main Event and that's how I found it. So the first challenge is simply getting the word out to those that don't know about the comps and don't use the forum. The second issue is likely the language barrier. Recently a potential competitor asked some questions about the hunt times and BC did a great job answering back but I wonder how many don't even get that far. If language is an issue they probably are not here for the social interaction and are seeking em$. Possible solutions could be to include a hyper link for the Standard Requirements in several other languages and then also include bilingual member names that are willing to answer further questions or specific comp ROE questions.

My interest in Classic came from a meeting with Lion Martinez while playing the Hunter2005. he told us of a new game being developed with better graphics and more life like gameplay. I was hooked and followed theHunter every since. I joined the forum to compete with people who enjoyed hunting with each other. When sites like Whiteout came along I joined and developed a liking for competition and the forums. When Discord came along I joined because it was easier to use than TeamSpeak. After Classic went FTP I almost left because it opened up the game for a lot of winning for the sake of prestige and not for the sake of friendship. The Ultimate Hunter site was developed and I really enjoyed competing in it , although I wasn't very good at it it was something to keep an old mans interest alive.
I for one think that BCKidd's mini comps kept Classic from demise early in the FTP stage then developed into a really good competition site. Like Faultier and TheWind7 it is enjoyment for me even if I lose. If the forum was a little easier to join there would be a lot more players that would if they could. I helped another player to try and join , but when he came to joining he had problems with the CAPTCHA and I couldn't help him get registered even after I talked to him on Steam and Discord. He gave up , he still hunts but alone most of the time. I think helping with joining the forum would enhance our competitor base. :D
