Re: Next Gen Mini Comp #27 by BCKidd
I'm thinking of coming up with another scoring system- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, placers will still get the regular points- from fourth spot down .5 pnts for everyone. Here is a scenario example: I participate and I don't make the top three, so I get .5 pnts, next comp I place 3rd and get 3 pnts now I would have 3.5 pnts, or 6.5 for 1st, 5.5 for 2nd etc. Or I could simply build up to 30 points in .5 increments. Haven't worked out all he details, but I have been thinking everyone who participates should get points, as long as the ROE and requirements are fulfilled. Thoughts? Respectfully,

Well.. this 2nd attempt ended in sadness... To the Bear that could have been, if only... I didn't miss the shot on the second bear or if I had only stopped and posted the darn first bear... Sadly, no one to blame but me this time. Oh well, two more attempts to go. Good Luck all.Smokin1 wrote: Just laughing my .... off as I read the previous posts... too funny. And no... my first attempt do not go well. After 2hrs 53min, I took a shot at the only thing I saw... one bear and I missed... Tracked 29 Elk and collected 6 mushrooms, but that's it. Well, here is to better luck in the next attempt. Lucky Murph made it look too easy...Good Luck all.

Yeah, you're probably right. It is a lot easier for me to keep the PLB straight. We shall see what comes of it. Was a thought, but why give points for simple participation. That doesn't make much sense when I think about it. Attempt #1... over an hour and a half, 3 bears down, one 22+/225 blonde, 2 common... and I missed a shot on a 24 top scoring bear.

Yes! Finaly a score to post.
Not a real big guy among them but after 2 failed attempts and in case something goes wrong in the last one,
i'm more than happy i got something on the scoreboard.
Was lucky the fur colours were matching nicely with the biggest bears i found.

Re: Next Gen Mini Comp #27 by BCKidd
Who knows, maybe something will come of it. Participation points tho', I dunno- maybe have to come up with another requirement for those that don't make winning positions but still get .5 pnts. The brew is in the witches caldron, jus' needs a few more ingredients... Re: Next Gen Mini Comp #27 by BCKidd
I got a PM from a competitor questioning if the common Black Bear would be classified as a fur variation. The short answer is yes. As long as there are two other variations. I'm sorry if others were mislead in thinking the three bears, had to be anything but (Black) common, that is not the case. Respect,

I can't really tell what the motivation for each single participant is to join the comps,so this is just my point of view.BCKidd wrote:I'm thinking of coming up with another scoring system- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, placers will still get the regular points- from fourth spot down .5 pnts for everyone. I am here mostly for fun and competing with others in a more personal way than those regular comps where it's just a bunch of names and numbers at the end.
I do activate some of them from time to time when there is one fitting the area or the animal i wanna go after .
So for me, i don't mind whatever direction it goes as long as the comps itself stay alive.
For newer / less experienced players or the ones looking at the em$, more points might be more motivational. but 60 competitions for a payout might be to much for them.
If it stays the way it is now . that would be fine aswell.
But i also wouldn't mind completly removing the points and em$ and just play for the fun of it.What is a position on the winners rostrum worth if there were only 3 people battling for it ?
