Well, at least I proved I *can* hit the broad side of a barn. Sadly, I also hit the side of a tree and messed up a nice shot on that second bull elk! The bark exploded when I hit - argh!
This was the first time I've experienced the elk coming in to the call but then suddenly taking off because wolves started chasing them. That was frustrating! I've seen them being chased, but not ones I was actively trying to get.

I'm cutting my losses tonight with this one - attempt made, 2 elk harvested, but no viable score to submit. Time used: 1h 39m 44s

Yeah, but the bigger they are, the easier they spot ya and spook!
I got up a little early today and took a quick try at it, along with preparing a bit more setup for a real attempt(s) after work. Unlike last night, I called in and saw good-sized and really nice looking bulls... but they both spooked before I could take a shot. I didn't get a chance to miss them!

So I found a way that works pretty good. I lay on a rock after using sceny to bring them to the spit I want. Then I can slide off so when I stand up, the rock partially hides me. They are like dumb cows man, you just can't be up. Also need 20m or more distance.
