long distance shooting competitions
in the competition rule:
Harvest a Bison from the longest distance while standing with only one shot. Stands, Towers, Blinds and Shooting Tripod Rests are not allowed.
Is it possible to harvest bison in one shot with a crossbow at 607.09 m (1991.77 ft) ?
this competition has happened to me a few more times, the rules are the same. the leader is always the same person

It must be possible if someone is doing it. Look at the scoresheet, and click on "Map" https://www.thehunter.com/#profile/__ko ... /852111264
It's "Tod", with one bloody 'd'!

Yes this is possible, however with a great effortturktwister wrote:Is it possible to harvest bison in one shot with a crossbow at 607.09 m (1991.77 ft) ?
- Lure or chase the bison to the target location
- Fast travel to the top of the mountain
- Keep shooting tracer arrows down until you hit one
One single hit is enough (and in fact required). Every arrow hit leads to death sooner or later within the session. You just need to sit it out. In the case listed, it took the bison over 28 minutes to die.

Re: long distance shooting competitions
I have tried this myself yesterday and was able to hit three bison about 20 times in total My problem was that none of the hits registered. The bison were standing there lit up like Christmas trees. When I ended up shooting them from close, there was no record of any long shot hits.
So from that perspective I am wondering how the shots register for the person mentioned but not for me.

It's best to not enter any competition that has longest shot, or shortest shot in the rules. It's not realistic.turktwister wrote:in the competition rule:

You're right Kidd. I was just coming here to edit it. It's not my business what someone else does. If it wasn't legal it couldn't be done. Funny rules but it is what it is.
