Next gen Mini-Comp #97

These competitions will last 48 hours! Keep your eyes open for the next!
I’ll be using a point system- 1st Place 6 points, 2nd Place 3 points, 3rd place 2 points, per mini-comp win. You will need 30 points to get a payout of 1000EM$. Anything over 30 points gets carried over to your next score.
Non-participation in any mini-comp does not subtract from any points you accumulate. Your points accumulate with each and every win!
30 points/ Five 1st place wins = 1000EM$.
All submissions must be made in the English language.
~~It is the competitors responsibility to know when the comp starts and ends in their Time Zones. Here is a handy link: https://savvytime.com/converter/gmt-to-pst

Essentially, I will announce on this thread when the comp officially starts and ends.

Good luck to all. I'll see you on Redfeather Falls!
The question remains, are there any high scoring Elk on that reserve.
We'll soon find out! :D Respectfully,

I've got a score to post as well! I was starting to worry that I wouldn't find any bigger ones! I managed to get one that weighed 400 kgs and scored less than 47!! Complete hunt: https://www.thehunter.com/#profile/spla ... /106869740

I've hit RFF twice already and I found zero Bull Elks that scored over 200+. I'd say RFF has certainly lost its appeal for Elk. I have seen lots of cow elk- bulls are almost non existing. I wish EW would look into that, I truly think there is an issue with elk on that reserve. Good to see at least two folks posting. I still have time before the next one starts, so, maybe I'll give it another go. ;) Respect,

BCKidd.

I agree. I've lost interest in elk at RFF. I've tried blacktails but so many bears get in the way it's hard to focus on the deer. Moose is kind of easy but i have ways to make it harder.

Going back to Timbergold and RME is back on my mind. I love RFF but they need to do something about the animal spawns. Just walking around for hours is not much fun. That's why I didn't enter this comp.

Totally agree. The Elk there have become less and less appealing. There was a time when it was the go to place for me, when hunting Elk. Then as time went on, the Elk disappeared. There are discussion about it all through this forum. It has been brought to EW's attention before, but there doesn't seem to be anything that can be done. EW claims they haven't decreased the spawns, but, I think something odd has certainly taken place- perhaps a mistake by one of the devs and it hasn't been noticed yet, or the Elk are all still there, but where is anyone guess. ;) Respect,

BCKidd.

I noticed it happening at TG for RME too. So, maybe it a general elk problem. I was in an elk comp at RFF yesterday and used up 4 attempts and found nothing. I used my last attempt on Settler Creek and got three elk. It's not a map I enjoyed though.

I love elk and i'm not sure what to do. I like to focus on one animal. Not a lot of choices on RFF.

I know I'm going to regret this, and probably end up losing out on getting points on this comp because of it... but I can't *not* try to be helpful! :?

I harvested FIVE bulls in just under 3 hours, and every one of them were up in and around the northeast corner. I started at Darkwood Lodge, went a bit to the right all the way up to the river, followed the river back down, and then up again in the middle of the 'circle' I had made. Once back up to the river, I went to that corner... and that's where my last three bulls (2 small and the one biggest) were all harvested, about 10 minutes apart from each other.

I wonder if something is bumping them all up into that corner?

you canl see using the map for each elk I took it was in the same area the first in middle of your circle the second closer to the cabin and the last I had circled back to the River making another trip looking for one smaller I had seen the first trek when the last one showed as 315 on the guess and he was bigger than the guess of the one I was following . :o
