Well I've been saving back a little EM and looks like I'll have a reason to blow it on the 7mm-08. Kind of need it in this one looks like. I think the 5 attempts is a little mean for needing 2 airborne birds Hmmmm.... you're a mean one, Mr Grinch
Simple strategy here- get your birds and see what you have in attempts left (if any) to hunt the rest  If there's any shining light I guess it's we don't have to use a bow for a bird :P

Finally happened, 1 shot rule and airborne, in a 5 attempts only competition, there are many memes to represent the feeling but sometimes classic arts are just better:
Image

So, find a big boar and one shot him is pretty normal, challenging but nothing new, same as fox... But it take a lot of self confidence to have that 25-30 scoring Pheasant in the ground, whistle and bet all in that one single shot knowing it can void the whole hunt, and then go to do some Geese hunting until you bag one big, again without missing a shot. My call, one or two attempts to get a Wild Boar and the fox, the rest to get the birds.

Now for the people wondering how to hunt Geese without a setup, is harder but not impossible, the hard part is to find them, look for them in the open fields because they like land to sleep, once you spot them get close very, veeery quietly, they will awake anyway so when you are close enough run toward them, with the shotgun ready and aim well.

Love that classic art! Those of you that are buying the 7mm-08, you won't be disappointed, it'll take a bit ofc to get used the bipod. Once you get over that learning curve, you'll wish you would have bought it sooner. ;) Peace.

Viva...

Humm participating in the one will require that I buy a new gun!! I'll have to decide which one- 7mm or 10mm?? I know I cannot compare both because they are totally different (one is a handgun, the other is a rifle), but I also have to take in to account the future use of it!!
But I like the added difficulty of the airborne combination with the limited number of attempts! it's gonna be a thrill... Hunting geese is not very difficult, i have a little setup with everything needed! pheasants for me are harder, but I might manage to get it!!
But I cannot shot boars without buying one of the above mentioned weapons... until the start of the comp, I'll have to spend some em$ :P

Yarrymasa- The 7mm-08 is very versatile. Don't believe what you might have read about the rifle, that "it isn't any good", 'cause it is probably one of the best rifles in the EHR. There is a lil' bit of a learning curve, but once you figure it out, you'll be droppin' critters from a great distance, and they will die... ;) Peace.

BCKidd:
EW hunt summary must show that number of animals harvested is equal to the number of shots fired
that is a simple rule to follow until now with ground animals, but i have been back in Hirsh doing waterfowling with geese, and is very common to get 2 birds with one shot due the spread of the shotgun and the way geese get close to each other when they are approaching, so 2 geese with one shot would be a void hunt?.

Yes. A while back, there was a loophole in that if you missed a shot or lost an animal, you could make up for it with with a double (2 animals with one shot).
I've since modified the code to disallow that. So perhaps the rule should add, "(Hit Accuracy & Kills per Hit must be 100%)" as well. ??
It's "Tod", with one bloody 'd'!
