The competition on SC is still going on and there are plans for RFF. I was hoping that after the deposition on SC, RFF would be free from Rusvelt elks. I was wrong. Another fantastic competition. BC kidd, you have talent. I will have to buy a new gun. I will have to be better prepared than on SC

C'mon, Redfeather Falls without elk would be a sin. Anyway, looking at the standings in the SC competition I don't want to know what you do when you're "better prepared".RudiRR wrote:The competition on SC is still going on and there are plans for RFF. I was going to add that, but you'd probably be lucky to single-lung a frog with the .45 Long Colt.VonStratos wrote:Is there some extra ems if we get that frog with the .45 Long colt revolver?

My way of hunting is different than most players. That's why I need good preparation and recognition.Tanngnjostr wrote:C'mon, Redfeather Falls without elk would be a sin. Well, RFF is a paradise when compared to Settlers, hunting elks is fun and satisfactory because there are a plenty, or at least they have a normal spawn ratio, Black Bears are common and in the swamp area you can spot them and stalk them from afar, but if you can place a barrel then they are the easiest to get, WT in the south half, BT in the north half, and with the weapon selection even without a scope there shouldn't be too many frustrating shots or need for second shots. Also, no cats or wolves to scare the animals so is easy to lure them.

Viva...
I'm in- as always, even though I don't have a permitted weapon to kill the moose... I'll have to make a trip to the store...
Great to see some portuguese flags there in the participants list- we are growing strong!!

Not going to argue with your experiences here Von , but since the ERR , i am finding that the Elks in RFF are almost non existent .VonStratos wrote:hunting elks is fun and satisfactory because there are a plenty, or at least they have a normal spawn ratio,
Couple solo bulls and when i see a herd / group , seems the big ones left them . The brothers kinda broke up imo .
RFF used to have way more traffic by them in the past .

Yeah that was compared to Settlers, but i have to agree with you in overall state of the Elk, i cant say if was after the ERR when i felt the change, but years before there was Elks all around, i used to hunt them for competitions because they were easy to hunt in close(i had bow and shotgun only), and there was a lot, then after my last break and when i came back i noticed they where fewer than before, i though it just was my idea and since there was no report official about a change, i didn't give too much tough, nowadays i still found them around in the same areas, thats why i thin the ratio is normal(again compared to Settlers)but the big groups of 5 males are harder to find than before, still i think people will not have nearly the same difficulties to find Elks like in Settlers, now to find a big one is a very different matter.
A tip: I usually spawn in the western lodge and jump right in the eastern lodge, is common(not always of course) get an Elk call near the lodge after the jump, it can be male or female but worth the shot as starting point to look for them in a hunt, they like roam near that lodge.

Another one for the masses.
Really cool idea to use old guns with no scopes. I think.
Thanks BCKidd for the comp and Dyeuz and the anonymous guy or gal for the bonus prizes!
Count me in. I guess
