Glad you had fun KingKong1! Merry Christmas to you and yours as well. A little over 6 hours and this one will be ending. I hope I'll see you in the next one too. 8-) Peace.

First of all, given I registered to UHC just a few days ago, let me send my strongest compliments to the UHC Team: really a very good site, made with both the heart and the brain, for the lovers of this game!
That said: I like this comp very much! One is obliged to continuously evaluate a good number of factors and to balance them, minding the time, the progression of other competitors, the bisons suddenly flanking you (just after you have called that "75-90 Kg" Sitka and waiting it to come in good range for a letal shot)... and (at least for me) that add so much to the fun!

I have read in some previous comments that 20 animals can be too much; as a constructive comment, I agree with that and would limit to a smaller number (12? 14?) that would still allow margins in the choices but a little less demanding in terms of total time spent.
On the other hand, I appreciated that the rules allow also the guests to participate (and I just could use only the .243, too).

Of course, being my first competition on UHC, I made various mistakes; also shot the wrong animals (and waited forever the death of a bad-hit moose), airily submitted a couple of 0s, and at the end I have let not enough time to get all the 20 results (being now busy in family duties for the holidays).
So excited about this competition, a few days ago I even forgot to activate the regular "Biggest Sitka Deer" comp. by EW... and, according to Murphy's Law, I have luckily met 89.5 moving Kgs of Sitka! :o
(Whether you are wondering: yes, I stopped them, and made them part of my results ;) )
At the end, I have learnt three or four very useful things about hunting Sitkas, and a couple of well-populated routes in WR. That's a very good result for my approach to this game; I'm just Training, after all. ;)

I'm sorry for the length of this post, but I really wanted to express my appreciation and my thanks (eagerly waiting for a new chance).

My congrats to the winner, and Merry Christmas to All of you!

Ditto what D said HT ~ Great post! Love reading a good post as yours.

Yes this was a bit different but it was in the tradition of a true "Cull" hunt and competition. It's a little bit for everyone. Some folks thrive on this style while others cherish other forms. BC has been amazing at creating fun challenging comps that fit a wide range of adventures.

Awesome! Thank you for that, HT. Great post indeed! And yes even I found that "culling" 20 heavy Sitka to be most difficult. You will be happy to know my next comp will require any slug ammo. So, yes guest will be able to participate in that one as well- providing they have the GM$ to buy four licenses- 'cause that is all we're huntin' next time- 4 different species- one of each, one reserve. Sounds :P simple. I hope I'll see your name on the LB! ;) Respect.

Many thanks to BCKidd and Dyeuz for the permanent organization of competitions!

It was very exhausting and full of joy and disappointment competition, which took me ~80 hours to achieve a result.
I have only .243 of the allowed by rules with which it is difficult to get HV 100%.
It took several days to learn how to accurately shoot to the brain.
During these days I have lost some very heavy deers.
Also this competition allowed me, for the first time, to reach the level of 20/20 (Spotting/Tracking) on one of the animals (Sitka), find one good trophy (Score: 112.125) and one little rare Melanistic.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

Difunto, you did extremely well, managing what you did. Kudos to you for that! Glad you enjoyed and learned a few things, that is most important. ;) Peace.
