Hmmm, I just shot a ptarmigan on the ground with the CB Pistol- it gave me 33 CSS. Is this a mistake- since most have claimed that CSS can't be gained by shooting the ptarmigans on the ground. :? Peace.

You're mixing thing up, BC. You'll get some CSS, but the HV will always be zero when shooting them on the ground.

Yep, I just shot them on the ground with all 4 weapons (22 Air, 22LR, 17hmr, Crossbow Pistol).
In-game on the harvest screen it showed the CSS and HV:100. But on the hunt summary & scoresheet it shows HV:0

So, Since the ROE says it's legal to shoot them on the ground, I will calculate the HV for Ptarmigans only from the wound time.
It is possible to have >0 wound time if the shot is poorly placed, or the distance is too great.
So, 0 wound time will yield HV:100, >=60 seconds wound time will yield HV:0
I'll add this to the first page ROE
It's "Tod", with one bloody 'd'!

The highest possible CSS for RME is 95%. So your 412 comes in at 77%

I will ask again. 95% of what..the score? The weight? The score & weight? The color? I don't get it. I want to calculate it myself. Is there a formula?

TIA
Ah, sorry. :D

The formula is:

CSS = (Score - Min_Score) / (Max_Score - Min_Score) * 100 * Species_Multiplier (directly from the wiki: https://thehunter.fandom.com/wiki/CSS)

So it is "related" to the score of the animal. The lowest possible score getting 0 CSS, and the highest possible score getting 100 CSS * the difficulty modifier.

So to calculate these yourself, you need to know the min & max possible score for the species, and the modifier.

Better?
Better, thank you. And thank you and Marc for finding it in the Wiki. I could not.

Yep, you are correct. I looked at the hunt summary and the HV was zero. Thanks for pointing it out. And thank you Tod, for changin' the scorin' for them birds- like we had discussed. 8-) Peace.
