Good thing you aren't competing for prizes lol, that are some amazing animals, to come across one like that in a hunt is great, get a 420+ Elk and a couple of great WT buck as bonus, i hope you didn't spent your whole luck for the competition in that hunt

Re: 2nd Annual RFF Fall Hunt
Nope, don't think I'll ever see another Elk that size. The biggest one before this brute was a 414- some time ago. Was proud of that one, and am even more excited about this one. It was a good hunt- no doubt about it- the thing is I went with a rifle that I might be at level 5 (give or take). Three submissions tho', so- likely won't get anything better. It rained on and off but I was fortunate to stumble upon a herd of bull Elk- rare as it is these days, I stuck with them, I had seen that 425 from a distance not doable with the .303, so I took a few shots at ones with in distance, manged a couple- the big bull did exactly what I wanted it to do and that was head toward the river. From there it was jus' spot, stalk, call and shoot. Peace.VonStratos wrote:Good thing you aren't competing for prizes lol, that are some amazing animals, to come across one like that in a hunt is great, get a 420+ Elk and a couple of great WT buck as bonus, i hope you didn't spent your whole luck for the competition in that hunt

Re: 2nd Annual RFF Fall Hunt
I had no idea my moose was even placed in a comp, lol. I was following/spooking a bear for over an hour. Actually started at one feeder and by sheer luck of his chosen route ended up following/spooking him all the way to my other feeder. I thought, ok I'll head to my tower at the feeder while he calms down and wait for him there. Got to my tower, totally expecting to see him on his way, and shocked I could not re-locate him at all. Then I heard a heavy rustle, looked down, and saw two huge tubs lookin' right back up at me. Ninja'd by a bull moose, crazy. My heart started thumpin' and stayed that way long after finally clicking on the taxidermy button lol. He's now my PB Moose, beating my old PB by nine points, and will be in my lodge the minute I start my next hunt. Was really happy I could put him on the LB and hold 3rd place for a few hours, lol. I'll be lucky to hunt again for this comp but sure gonna try.BCKidd wrote: J_Birdman- that Moose knocked me from 1st place in EW's Moose Wisely. Very nice one indeed- congrats. Glad to see you puttin' up a score.BCKidd.

However, holy smokes BC, that hunt you had! That elk! Those WT's! ..Wow! Congratulations! Double wow, those are fantastic animals and one amazing hunt!
Oh.. The reason that bear never ever went to the second feeder; I finally figured out that I had accidentally filled a feeder in HD instead of that one! BUT ..he still ended up in my LB hunt. Hah! But ..he didn't weigh nearly as much as I hoped. Aw!

A 425 elk and a 193 whitetail deer? In one hunt? Taken with the .303? You must BCKidding me!
Seriously, congrats! Taking that elk from 60+ meters with the .303 really means you got some balls, buddy!
And a nice moose, J_Birdman!

WOW!!! nice elk ***coughs.....jerk*** haha.Seriously though that is a cracker.Still yet to bag a 400+ elk here, not through lack of trying though
On another note, big thanks for hosting this comp to all involved with the issues that we seem to be having with elk being scarce and logout errors etc it is really throwing up quite a challenge.
Bah!!! had my screen on pause since last night since i had to go to bed for work, was still on when i got home not long ago.Came in here to post and see what was new and got booted pffft!!!!
Would be good if they could sort it out sooner rather than later
