Fowl Sniper Comp (maybe)

Post by RidgeBack69 »

Lately I have been hunting geese with the 17hmr and must say it is bringing some fun back to theHunter for me so I am going to put together a comp Called
Fowl sniper
(name may change)
The total weight (maybe it should be normalized score?) of all airborne geese and ducks shot at 75 meters or more. (still toying with the range)
Weapons:
Grasshopper pistol, Plinkington, 17HMR

Bonuses could be.
Longest single shot(one for geese and one for ducks), Total range for all harvest, Highest scoring rare duck and goose.

Thoughts?

I am still thinking about time limits and submissions. So it don't become a grind it will also be a weekend thing so it will only run for 2-3 days.

I would have a lot of fun competing in this. Total weight within a certain time would be cool. I run through 150rds of .22lr fast so combining that and .17hmr might be necessary to reach a minimum hunt time without waiting around.

I was just thinking last night we needed a comp for waterfowl. Total weight or score, since score is based on the weight, in exactly one hours time. Could also use hit accuracy, kills per hit, person using the least amount of bullets etc.

OK. I think two hour time limit per hunt with max six submissions over three days should work.
I am also thinking of dropping the minimum distance to 45-50(not sure what the distance should be) meters so shotguns could be used also?
