I’m starting to get the itch too. Went and practiced some with the longbow. Fired 2 arrows in the one hunt and one landed in the neck of a goose at 43m. Hopefully it wasn’t just luck and I can do it again!
It was pure luck..no way you can do it again!
I don’t have any reason to refute such a claim just yet. But you better hope it was pure luck. :D

Dropped a goose at 150m with the grasshopper the same hunt but it had a single 20ga BB in its ass so that didn’t count. Lol

Even if you have SLI and two Nvidia 1080ti cards, the draw speed on that bow is so slow, most of the geese can land, take a poop, and take off again before you can shoot. It's pure luck. It helps to have someone else do the short range calling to get them close to the blind, but this is a SP comp. (a little tongue-in-cheek, but almost accurate ;) )

I don’t think the longbow draw time is too bad. Not like the pulsar. I wouldn’t even try if it was with that bow. I was able to get several arrows off at each group. I would just start shooting once they started circling on their way in. They start to flee after the first arrow. That’s when I connected with that one. Just as it started fleeing away.

I think the longbow is a decent choice for geese, but not so much for working a distance challenge. I like it because of the visibility, you get a good look at your target the way it's tilted. I've shot geese and ducks with it but not a lot. I have had a 40ish shot with a bow but snakebite.

David, my friend, that's a thought that won't keep me up at nights :D :P Tell ya what David, lets put some meaning to this- best finish buys the bottle of Scotch we're going to crack the seal on ;) ... and I hope I win so we both should hope I win, it'll be better scotch :D And rule #2, you have to do 2 shots to my 1 because you much more experienced than I am- I need a couple strokes on ya but won't matter, I'll be passed out before we finish the front 9  :lol ~ I'm clairvoyant that way
