The way i do it with my TS ( install / un-install ) is about 120m , from my experiences. Then i'm pretty sure i'm good . Sometimes i got the spook at 100m +/- couples meters, so not taking any chances no more.
And i agree with Stan , that there is noise also when you take it down . You will spook any animals inside 100m when you take it down , but you might not know it / see it .

Rule of Thumb..for me. The icon for your player (the arrow thingy that's on the HM) is exactly 50 meters to immediately past the point/tip. If the call or spot is mentally double that distance..the TS goes up..sometimes when its really close I back up 10 meters if there's a decent tree behind me.

There's only one rule of thumb that matters- find a bigger one than these 2 above ^ any ole way you can.

  • Bows only, no crossbows, no additional sights (no Parker Python Range Finder sight, no Pulsar five-pin sight)
  • Shooting from tree stand or tripod stand (no tripod shooting rest)
  • One-shot kills only, heart/lungs/brain (at least one of them) must be hit
That's how I understood it.

Awesome TK, was hoping to see you make it.

Coming up on 30 compdators now. This is shaping up to be a really good turn out for the second season of the ironman competitions.

Hope you guys are prepared and ready to loadout come comp open. I'm excited to watch the leaderboard as people put up some nice Whitetails and then try to improve upon them. It's my hopes that making the 2nd submission available to you guys will make this a pretty intense comp.

Luring a monster into a treestand and making that perfect shot to the heart/lungs or brain, has proven to be a task and a half during testing and that was without the pressure of the leaderboard. Good luck to all. You guys (and gals) are going to need it.

Any tips for WT on RB?? I have been doing some practice runs on it because I haven't hunted there much... and let's just say I'm reminded why hahaha

Also can I make a suggestion that 'spine 2' is added to the vitals list?? I mean it doesn't get much more vital than that... seeing how it controls the lungs/heart and everything below :) it also drops them instantly :)

Im looking forward to the competition :)

Thanks!!
