When?
Starts: Saturday 12th October 2013, 08:00 BST
Finishes: Monday 21st October 2013, 08:00 BST

Summary
This is a multispecies competition for guests (see definition of guest below) and members, with a different set of objectives based on your membership status. The competition incorporates an attempts system, whereby participants must "activate" their scoresheet each time they wish to submit scores. More information on the attempts system can be found below.

Objectives (Guests)
There is only one objective for guests:

- Harvest the highest scoring Mule Deer using the .243 bolt action rifle

Objectives (Members)
There are multiple objectives for members. Each one has to be completed (in any order you choose) by the end of the competition. The objectives are as follows:

- Harvest the highest scoring Mule Deer using the .243 bolt action rifle
- Harvest the highest scoring Whitetail Deer using buckshot ammunition
- Harvest the highest scoring Blacktail Deer from a distance of 20 meters or less
- Harvest the highest scoring Roe Deer using an arrow
- Harvest the highest scoring Red Deer with a single shot that hits the heart
- Harvest the highest scoring Roosevelt Elk with a single shot
- Harvest the highest scoring Moose from a distance of 100 meters or more
- Harvest the highest scoring Coyote from a hunting tower
- Harvest the highest scoring Black Bear using slug ammunition
- Harvest the highest scoring Feral Hog using an arrow
- Harvest the highest scoring Wild Boar with a single shot to the brain
- Harvest the highest scoring airborne Pheasant
- Harvest the highest scoring Turkey from a distance of 50 meters of more
- Harvest the highest scoring Brown Bear with a single shot
- Harvest the highest scoring Red Fox using a rifle

Rules
You can update your scoresheet as often as you wish but each time you do so uses an attempt. You must only submit male animals. You must take a trophy shot of the animals you submit. Harvests can be from single or multiplayer hunts, as long as you are awarded the score for the animal. Each animal you submit must be harvested in a hunt lasting 30 minutes or more (real time). In order for your competition entry to be valid you must fulfil the criteria for each species (excludes guests).

Guest Definition
For the purposes of this competition, the definition of a guest is someone who has not yet obtained a membership and whose account reflects no achievements other than those available to guests. Anyone caught creating a guest account for the purposes of this competition will be disqualified (automatic IP address cross-referencing is in place to check for previous participants of my competitions, as well as a "report guest" feature which any participant can use anonymously if they suspect cheating). If asked, you must be able to prove that your guest account was created prior to the announcement of this competition. If your hunt history does not include hunts prior to the announcement of this competition, you will almost certainly be asked to provide evidence to confirm that your account was created beforehand. If you register as a member and your membership lapses before or during the competition, you will not be able to change your membership status and compete as a guest.

Scoring
You must enter the score awarded for each animal on your scoresheet, together with the URL that links to the scoresheet on your Hunter profile. Your scoresheet will automatically calculate the percentage of each score in relation to the highest score for that animal, and it is this score (out of 1,500) that will determine your place on the leaderboard. The leaderboard will also show the sum of all animal scores but this does not reflect your position on the leaderboard. To access your scoresheet please follow the link below:

Registration
You must register online for this competition. When you register you will be asked to create a password for your scoresheet. Anyone can register right up until the competition finishes. To register please follow the link below:

http://www.ultimatehuntercompetitions.c ... gister.php

Live Leaderboard
The leaderboard will update automatically in real time when the competition begins and participants start submitting their scores. To access the leaderboard please follow the link below:

Attempts System
When you register for this competition you will be asked to enter your hunter score. This score will be used to determine how many attempts you are awarded. Attempts are awarded on the following basis:

Image

The hunter score you enter when you register will remain your hunter score for the purposes of the competition. If your actual hunter score increases between registration and the end of the competition, your number of attempts will remain unchanged. Similarly, if your hunter score decreases (in light of a recent bug fix) your number of attempts will remain unchanged. Random checks will be carried out to verify hunter scores. Anyone caught entering an incorrect hunter score at registration will be disqualified from the competition.

In order to post scores on your scoresheet you will first have to activate an attempt. Once you activate an attempt the scores that you submit must be from the first hunt following that activation. You can post a score for as many different animals as you wish, using a single attempt. All scores that you submit will have an attempt ID which will tie them to a specific attempt activation. Anyone caught submitting scores from hunts which do not directly follow or relate to an activated attempt will be disqualified from the competition.

Important: In the event of loss of connectivity to the game server, hardware failures, accidental pressing of Alt-F4 (or any other incident that causes a hunt to terminate prematurely) you will lose an attempt. Unless Expansive Worlds announce an outage on their uptime stats page, no attempts will be refunded. If you use an attempt to join a multiplayer game and you either lose connectivity to the server, or the host terminates the game / kicks you off, you will lose that attempt. If my web server experiences downtime then any attempts lost as a result will be refunded.

Prizes
The prizes for this competition are as follows:

1st Place - 5,000 em$
2nd Place - 4,000 em$
3rd Place - 3,000 em$
4th Place - 2,000 em$
5th Place - 1,000 em$

Highest scoring mule deer (guests only) - "Trailrunner" Membership Bundle

A bonus of 10,000 em$ will be awarded to the winner if he or she achieves the highest score for each animal (a total score of 1,500).

Prizes will be issued in the form of gift codes, sent by private message via the forum after the competition closes and all scores have been verified. No alternative prizes are offered.

Trophies
The winners will be awarded a novelty high resolution trophy (does not appear on your Hunter profile page). The trophy designs have not yet been confirmed.

Thank you for reading. I reserve the right to make amendments to the rules prior to the start of the competition. Good luck!

Additional rule suggestion for brown bears:

a.) All submitted brown bear shots must be captured on video.
b.) Player must have microphone audio activated.
c.) At the time of the shot, player must be singing "I Want It That Way" by the Backstreet Boys. If the player cannot hit all of the notes, "I'm Blue" by Eiffel 65 may be substituted, but player must be dancing and submit a second video proving such.

(I would have had the player sing a song relating to the size of the hind end of a brown bear, but the one I had in mind was not exactly "family friendly".)

I'm in.

Perfectly reasonable additions but you forgot "failure to include harmonies and backing vocals results in immediate disqualification" :D

Ooops, a small problem; our scoresheets are locked until the start of the comp, which means we cannot bookmark them. If a person chose not to enter an email address, they won't be able to get their scoresheet at all.

No need to bookmark the scoresheet this time. It's the same URL for everyone now, you just have to authenticate with your hunter name and competition password:

http://www.ultimatehuntercompetitions.c ... esheet.php

The only benefit to entering your email address is so that you can request a password reset link if you forget your password.
