Troubles with Steam and Linking my Account

So basically, I recently bought a pc. It's the first time I've been able to play theHunter since around 2013. I've downloaded the game through steam and it always asks me to sign in to link my account, but it never actually links my account. I can't purchase em$ because it can't reach steam. If I go to my account settings theres only facebook settings, no steam settings. If I try to buy em$ through the webpage it gives me the same "cannot reach steam" error. Please someone help me figure out what my problem is.

Try to log in to your account without Steam to make sure you still have a valid email and password.

If you cannot log in here, reset your password. If you still cannot log in, you wouldn't be able through Steam either.
