Dogs don't work on MP

I can't get my scent hound to spawn at all when I play multiplayer with my boyfriend? Everyone elses dogs work but mine, anyone else have that issue? He can't find my server when I host multiplayer either :s

I'm afraid it's an old bug that had been reported several times. As far as I know the devs tried to reproduce it, but it works on their side - which makes fixing it pretty hard for them.
