Duck decoy miscount?

Post by rhapsodaisical »

when starting up Rougarou I get the following message:

Image

It clearly states 19* but I have 18 mallards there + 1/6 spinny duck. (24) I also have 12 gadwall, 12 pintail and 12 Black ducks.

Does this mean the game doesnt recognise them?

I know for sure that the spinning decoys are always counted as one even though they have the attraction of six. Don't know why the gadwall/pintail/BD decoys shouldn't be counted though.

The mini map icons are horrific. Far to cluttered considering most people have a few blinds a full setup and a tent near by. Plenty of room in the left hand panel to give you a more clear breakdown instead of just spawn points

Piled up is okay, they just shouldn't be too far from each other. It's important that you see only one duck symbol on the hunter mate (not the launcher map!), then they count as one setup and the attraction adds up. If you see multiple (even if overlapping) duck symbols on the hunter mate, you better pick them all up and deploy them again, this time closer to each other.

The problem has existed since they released the baits for the new ducks.
The baits of the mallards and the bait with rotating wings are counted.
On my map I have 8 baits with rotating wings and 180 normal baits, without mallards.
Only 8 baits are counted.

I have one setup with 24 mallard + 12 gadwalls decoys, still just show 24 in the reserve screen.

Gonna fire this topic back up, since I got some follow up questions.

I wanted to make a site with 3 gad, 3 north, 3 american and 15 mallard.
Since that get me to the 24. But the map only shows 15, so my question is. It the site maxed? or should I put down 9 mallard more?

You need another 9 mallard, because mallard decoy gives 100% attraction to mallard species, and add 50% bonus atraction to the other species, but you need 24 mallard to reach the optimal attraction to mallards, so with your current setup you still have a good chance to break mallards, but low in the other species, for a more detailed info and how use the setups in a optimal way the wiki have the numbers and tables:
