Can't Log in Through Steam

I can not log in through steam or play because it opens up the new link like it usually does to log in then tells you to type in your log in requirements which i did but when I click continue the continue tab which is usually orange turns grey and my cursor goes to a red circle with a line through it whenever I try hover over it and when I click nothing happeneds its like the launcher just died can someone help or atleast relate
