Re: Dead Weight Competition

What a shocker! Every piece of research told me a 400 lb bear was really really rare, and unheard of in Maryland, with a few exceptions. There's actually a LOT of big bears in Maryland and most people just don't know it. The biggest taken this year was 575 lbs. The way our hunt is set up almost alw...

Re: Dead Weight Competition

Time is officially up for this competition! I have entered the official live weight of my bear into UHC and the leaderboard has sorted itself accordingly. Go check out your position and see how your bear compares to mine! First Place -- borys1977 Second Place -- Radamus Third Place -- VonHipper The ...

Re: Dead Weight Competition

Oh, you know what- I think we have to wait another 90 min in case someone just closed a hunt with a bunch of bears- they still have time to submit them. In regards to this, I had the weight ready to post on my phone since I knew some were waiting up for it and this didn't cross my mind. If someone ...

Re: Dead Weight Competition

Ashley, I thought I read somewhere in your story that we are going for the weight that the check station estimated it to be. Is that the case or are we going for the weight of your bear after it was field dressed? You are correct. You are going for the live weight-- the weight of the animal prior t...

Re: Dead Weight Competition

Definitely a nice bear. Congrats Tony. Len is going to be disappointed that you stole the biggest chocolate bear from him though, and he won't be around to do anything about it  It has definitely been interesting to watch this one play out from the sidelines. The range of the guesses is imp...

Re: Dead Weight Competition

That 90 minute rule is to prevent sandbagging. If you post here that you're having trouble submitting the hunt, I hardly consider that sandbagging. Others had a similar issue early in the competition where UHC wasn't letting them submit the hunt and it was just an issue with the game server being sl...

Re: Stalker decoys?

Aside from the fact that we already have attractants for most species in the game, I honestly don't think they're necessary. It's pretty easy to crouch/crawl up to most animals in the game without any aid. Add camo and scent killer and you're practically invisible to animals if you move slow enough....

Re: How do you check if your animal is scoring good?

In my opinion, the best/fastest way to find out if your animal is a trophy animal is to look at the leaderboards on theHunter's website or game launcher. The leaderboards show the top 100 scoring specimens of that species for the current season. Since we are several months into the current season, t...
