Re: Name that Tropical forest reserve!
Well.
I love hiking in the Australian forests, they are dense and muggy. To fit in with the environment here are a couple of names.
Petrichor Reserve ("or insert replacement word for reserve).
~ Petrichor is; the fresh, earthy smell after or during rain. This resembles Australian style rain forests very well, as they are always drizzly.
Komorebi Forest. Although Komorebi is a Japanese derived word, Australia is a vastly multicultural land with towns and forests named with things from all over the world.
~ The definition of Komorebi is: Sunlight that filters through the leaves of trees. Once again, this is a characteristic that is strong with Australian rain forests. As they are quite dense in areas, one typical loves to see a glimpse of light through the tree canopy.
otherwise.. Palmwoods State Forest - Very Australian with the palms.
For one of the starting lodges, if you include a creek it could be titled Yabba Creek, as Yabba is an Australian indigenous term which means; talking. The flow of a river appears to speak words.
These names are not overwhelmingly Australian so that poetic licensing in the creation of flora and fauna will not be out of place with the names.
Regards,
Matt

Re: Name that Tropical forest reserve!
Since this map is based on a tropical Australian forest, I'd like to connect it to something associated with water.
And one of the more common creatures in the natives mythology is the rainbow serpent, know under many different names. It's commonly associated with water in many forms, as a creator, fertility and more. My suggestions is based on names from the Queensland region:
Toulloun Lagoon
Kanmare Creek/ Swamp
Targan Hinterland /Streams
For the lodges:
Lorikeet's nest lodge
Bunyip swamp lodge
