great RM elk guys. 400s are pretty nice although not same as a Roosevelt 400 in rarity. id say 425/430s are pretty much about same as a 400 Roosevelt elk.which are very rare.

I agree Ron, a 400 RME is still an awesome trophy but not on the same scale as a 400 RE

They are even nicer when you finally get one, no matter the score. Most of us who rarely get really high scores for any species, and never see the leaderboard, are just happy for the experience, finally!

While not on par with a RE, it's still a great experience! Congrats!

I didn't think you meant anything bad, Ron. Typing leaves out voice inflection, so sometimes easily misunderstood. I'm coming up on 4 years, and have 2 400+ RE. One at 400.55 and the other at 402.165, both in season 19, a year and a half ago. Elk is my favorite species to hunt, and believe me the Roosevelt Elks I have at 400+ are my most prized trophies.

He was in a herd that also contained this:

My trophy shot failed so this is the best I can do :(

Managed to get a screenshot with both of them in the same image right before I dropped 'em! You'll see the non-typ behind and to the left of the beast:

Anyways was a good hunt and glad to be finally getting my butt back on my computer to do some huntin'! Life some days I tell ya.
Edit: If anyone's wonderin' I shot the beast typical first. They take sexy trophy shots.

Meh, those antlers are a mess. :P

I prefer symmetry and simplicity:
