I haven't even found a tree there yet to put up a tree stand

You can place a stand on 80% of the trees, including some really skinny ones (although those are not the best for concealment).

I found out a Beaver tree is pretty obvious with the tree on a tempoary site for a Tree Stand if you do this inspection of the tree.
If leaving the TS in the area, when setting up the stand walk all around the tree while inspecting your set-up and see if the Tree Stand does not disappear.
If it disappears on any side of the tree while you're getting ready to attach it, you've just found a Beaver Tree,.. so don't use that tree
