Re: Why the 9.3x62 is not allowed for water bufflo
The game description defines the 9.3x62 ammo as handloaded but does not specify the bullet weight, as is the case with most other ammo.
E.G. 7mm mag is specified as 200gr, 270 as 130gr and 223 as 50gr etc.
So Hoo Noes ?

Thanks guys. I would never thought about zooming in this ammo box picture. Good job on this.
I'm not sure isn't this even 2250 or 2350 fps actualy - it is indeed hard to read.

Doesn't it say 325grs? That would make much more sense in the velocity department as well.

All I know is 9.3 is a really bad gun for follow up running shots of animals as I discovered on my stream.
Had to lead the target by not even aiming on them to land in the lungs.
Other guns I can at least aim at the head or neck area on a fleeing animal and land in the lungs.
As the store description states: "The 9.3x62 cartridge does not offer the same speed and accuracy as the .300" I believe it!

I have over 1337 kills with my Longbow at 100% kill rate.

Re: 9.3x62 Used on Dev Stream for Buffalo, But Not Allowed for Us?
Custom loads........... There are a lot of guides that load bullets hot for a lot of big game animals.
If you use a heavy grain bullet but it doesn't retain a lot of its mass on impact than a better bullet is required, hence bullet type.
The perfect bullet for the size of the game animal is one that doesn't fragment but retains most of its mass and mushrooms while it still has penetrating power while even hitting bones.
This is accomplished by hotter powder loads to thrust the heavier stronger projectile faster resulting in deeper penetration and damage which leads to shock with impact.
Custom loads can make a hell of a difference with the rifle type cartridges that normally cannot produce this with factory loads, but don't get me wrong....there are a lot of big game cartridges that are very efficient right out of the factory loaded Box, but in that case it doesn't require modifications to suit our needs.
The first thing to remember is does it really matter in a game to closely resemble real world standards?
IMO hand loaded in the game may be following these custom loaded sequences,.. even if bullet grain weights on a box is not followed to a tee.
In the end,.. the gamemaker can say what gun and bullet to use on a species whether we agree to the knowledge that may not be correct IRL.
That's the part where we have to try and juggle the game makers decision, and throttle our discussion with our opinions to end up with a close enough product that will benefit both
game makers and game players with the final decision that is made,... and hopefully we keep going full speed ahead until it gets accomplished.
