Disappearing Wolves

Left two wolves dead in front on tree stand and look for wounded animal. When I came back both were gone. Blood signs were still there but animals were gone.

I had this happen a few months back. I had 2 elk right next to my tower. I wanted to take a cool trophy shot, but #1 it was too early in the morning & #2 I took off to track a wolf. Came back & they were both gone. I blamed the other wolves.
Now I don't leave them for very long at all.

It happened for me too!
Few month ago I shot a wolf then I follow the wounded Elk that I shot before.
I find and harvest the Elk but after I came back for the wolf, he was not there!
I search a lot and I find him in about 100m away from the drop spot!

In that case it might be that the other players didn't lose their animals, but that some weird bug caused them to be dropped (all animals are re-dropped when you leave the render distance) in the wrong spot. 100m on the is quite a distance.

Yeah. Maybe their animals dropped somewhere else when they leave the render range.

Was this in single player or multiplayer? If in MP it could be bugged, or someone else took'em?

It was in single player. It was next to a lake so if it got re-rendered they could have been dropped in lake.
