Where "o" Where have all the Elk gone...

Post by BCKidd »

Gone to heaven each and everyone. Been on three hunts, saw only one worthwhile Elk harvested out at 348. somethin' somethin'. No calls, and no male tracks of any kind in the last two hunts- 2hrs each or there about. Weird. Usually they are callin' like crazy, so, did EW lower their spawn rates? :P :P  Runnin' out of attempts... Peace.

It's not just the Elk. Remember when EW announced they would have "server based population control". Meaning they can regulate animal populations without a game update. There's your answer. Especially with the freeloader hunts that change. I'm convinced they control those spawns so guests get large animals and large quantities of animals, and the rest of us have to beg. Others have mentioned this same phenomena. EW has never disputed it.

Interesting. A conspiracy is it? I honestly thought something had gone awry. Now I get it. I sure hope that isn't the case, but it may very well be. I only noticed the lack of male Elk since they were added to the SF 2016. I can usually track a few in a couple hours, today tho' nothin', so it all might be true, EW is controlling the spawns.  Stop it, EW! :P Peace.

i just follow the tracks of the heaviest bull elk most of the time its a nice one but sometimes its a very fat <200 score elk :P

i had 4-5 full male herds today with 4 in a herd

I'm still working on Red & Roe deer....
and it seems that when I join EW competitions all the big animals disappear.
I follow the big tracks but the animals aren't paying out....
a just over +200 Red and a 202 Roe.
I couldn't find any big animals.
And I usually have no problem when I don't play a competition.
This has happened to me for the last 3 EW comps.
Bad Luck.... :(

I came across a few today. Must just be a "randomness" phenom.

What would be the reason for EW to limit spawns for everyone in the same competition?

I did check a few months back if guests get better scores while playing with a guest account a few days, and they don't. What i am pretty sure though happens are changes in how many high and low scores spawn, but the outcome is always the same for everyone, independent of your membership status and whether you are in a comp or not.
