Really? How many silver-tipped or albino brown bears have you killed?
5 silver tips and 2 albino brown bear so for out of 662 brown bears killed
That is pretty lucky. For close to the same amount of bears I only have 2 silver-tipped.
Yes, I'd say he's most fortunate! I've harvested 571 brown bear and only 2 of those were silver-tipped.
I would love to get an albino brownie more than anything.

I got first silver tip in VDB south of the north island, the spotting visibility is just incredible there. Second silver and albino in Hemm. I got lucky spotting the albino at all. I was all of 10 minutes walking out of the lodge. Albinos blend in with the snow pretty good

Re: Averages for rare harvests
I've been playing since 2010 and so far I've only found one rare. It was a melanistic moose cow which I wasn't aware of at the time because I shot and harvested it in a dark / shadowed area. I even took a trophy shot and still didn't realise it was a rare until someone pointed it out to me after a cursory look at my hunt history. Total time spent playing is 807 hours, spotted around 3,000 animals, walked over 2,000km. I keep hoping I'll run into a piebald or albino one of these days.
Congratulations to all who are more successful at finding rares

Re: Averages for rare harvests
I've gotten all three brands of rare Reindeer (one albino, one piebald, and one luecestic - can't spell) and three silver tip brown bears all in the same spot, sitting over my bear barrel. As you can imagine, it's now my lucky spot. Lol. I'm just waiting for that albino brown bear to waltz in one day.
Other than that, I believe I've gotten one piebald whitetail buck, a melanistic red deer cow, and a piebald whitetail doe. I believe these were all during the last season, with the exception of one or two of the silvertips, which would be from this season.

Interesting stats David, so I looked at mine again, I've walked close to the same as you, 1900km, 400 more hours and spotted 5000 more animals.
Have you been walking and texting? taking care of business while you're hunting?

I have absolutely no idea how many rares I've harvested.
