looks good i would suggest you maybe add a image

Very good point ron! I will check the leaderboards and see if I can pick a good picture for
- all antlered / horned types
- all tusk types
- long feathered pheasant
- long bearded turkey

Great project Hoo, really useful for Newbies of all levels. The starting directions are very helpful and yes, I would send a friend here. Just used the Reindeer guide for starting the missions.

I love it!
Also I think Face Paint should be mentioned in the Alpine Ibex text. ;)

Good job HooCairs, i haven't yet read all of it, just quick scanning for my interesting animal the ELK :D and i would like to make little correction here

"Roosevelt Elk bulls travel alone or in groups with up to five males."

I am sure they can be up to 6 males, in WH there is a group of 6 males :)

And i don't know if this could be of anyone interest, but in WH there is exactly 20 bulls divided in the following formation...

6+5+4+3+1+1

this is my findings when i was doing some experiments in WH!

Very interesting, but I cannot remember following a group of 3 or 4 bulls. Also I have never followed a herd of 6 bulls either, and I have tracked them quite a bit on the southern island. Do you have pictures, videos, dev posts?

AH, I didnt know that the 3D camo only worked in limited forested areas. I thought it worked over all on the whole map!

The Ibex isnt considered a "deer" family, either? so the special outfits wont work on it, hmm?

Yes i was exactly surprised as you :D i never knew there was a group of 4 specially, but i saw group of 3 before and 5 before, but also wasn't sure about group of 6, i thought 6 sometimes can be a result of group of 5 and a loner happened to be in the area,,, but after doing my experiment which was to zig zag scanning from north to south both islands in WH to find my first 400+ elk which btw results in fail :D i came to these findings that there is 20 bulls in every session in WH, sadly there is no prove with me other than the log file i kept when ever i spot a group i log it in a txt file...

Code: Select all

My road to 400+ Elk, Whitehart Island Personal Log...

MP Session (1). 2014-02-14| 15:37| South Island (3 bulls)+ North Island (Loner 370k tracked not spoted)+ (6 bulls)+ (5 bulls)+ (1 bull)= 16 bulls in 4 hours | Biggest score 341
MP Session (2). 2014-02-14| 20:52| South Island (3 bulls)+ (6 bulls)+ North Island (Loner)+ (5 bulls)= 15 bulls in 3 hours | Biggest score 338
MP Session (3). 2014-02-15| 17:50| South Island (Loner)+ (5 bulls)+ North Island (6 bulls)+ (3 bulls)+ (Loner)+ (4 bulls)= 20 bulls in 4 hours | Biggest score 344
MP Session (4). 2014-02-15| 23:06| South Island (3 bulls)+ (loner)+ (6 bulls)+ (4 bulls)+ North Island (5 bulls)+ (loner)= 20 bulls in 4 hours | Biggest score 365
SP Session (5). 2014-02-16| 15:23| South Island (Loner)+ (6 bulls)+ North Island (5 bulls)+ (3 bulls)+ (Loner)= 16 bulls in 4 hours | Biggest score 340
SP Session (6). 2014-02-17| 15:29| South Island (Loner)+ (5 bulls)+ North Island (6 bulls)+ (3 bulls)+ (3 bulls)= 18 bulls in 5 hours | Biggest score 305 |BAD SESSION
SP Session (7). 2014-02-17| 23:32| South Island (5 bulls)+ North Island (Loner)+ (4 bulls)+ (Loner)+ (6 bulls)+ (3 bulls)= 20 bulls in 4 hours | Biggest score 350
SP Session (8). 2014-02-18| 15:46| South Island (6 bulls)+ (4 bulls)+ (3 Bulls)+ North Island (Loner)+ (5 bulls)= 19 bulls in 4 hours | Biggest score 324
SP Session (9). 2014-02-18| 23:37| South Island (3 bulls)+ (Loner)+ North Island (4 bulls)+ (Loner)+ (6 bulls)+ (5 bulls)= 20 bulls in 5 hours | Biggest score 332
SP Session (10). 2014-02-20| 14:32| South Island (3 bulls)+ North Island (Loner)+ (4 bulls)+ (5 bulls)+ (3 bulls)= 16 bulls in 5 hours | Biggest score 275 |BAD SESSION
SP Session (11). 2014-02-23| 17:44| South Island (Loner)+ (3 bulls)+ (Loner)+ North Island (4 bulls)+ (5 bulls)= 14 bullls in 5 hours | Biggest score 356
As u can see each session took 4-5 real life hours, and sometimes i was able to find them all, and sometimes a group will be able to get away from my radar :D i gave up after doing 11 sessions... because of the bad spawns... of course this experiment was before i got my first 400+ in RFF, i even submitted this log file at that time to support! i was getting desperate of elk!
