Reindeers never bed down to rest/sleep ...
Hello hunters
Was asking myself if reindeer species bed down to rest.
On WIKI , it is said : Migrating animals are always on the move, stopping only to feed.
Those that mean that I will never find a reindeer sleeping in the reserve ? Never ?
Mighty energetic beast aren't they !?

When you take the size of the map into consideration, the "migration" is no more than a casual stroll for a reindeer. Aren't they able to cover something like 30-40 kilometres a day?
EDIT: Just checked this. 19-55km per day according to the wiki so even a slow amble would put them through the 'Dal in a couple of hours. You're hunting during the day so high likelihood of no rest needed.
(I see they can also run up to 80km/hr too -chase that!)

I have also never seen a sleeping coyote, fox, rabbit, pheasant, turkey...not so unusual.

They have to pull Santa's sleigh around the world overnight. That's quite a feat. Can't be sleeping.

While I was looking up reindeer on the wiki yesterday discovered that the "original" Santa (St. Nicholas) reindeer did not include Rudolph.Fletchette wrote:Uh, what ?!?!?Maverick_2014 wrote:And, stupid fact of the week. The 8 originals were named in 1823. Rudolph was added more than 100 years later in 1939.

Lols. He was persona non grata for 100 years. I just think the old guard felt threatened by the new young buck, that's all.L3M182 wrote:well of course Rudolph didnt appear till after the rest. dont you remember
