The arrow seems pretty parallel to the side of the deer, so I'll say that the arrow shaft passed alongside the deer's left lung, and the tip hit the stomach/intestines.
The issue with the arrow placement can be seen even with a rifle. If you take a shot, look at where the bullet hole is placed. Depending on the curvature of the animal it can be slightly off. The same goes for the arrows but sometimes the angle can be off too.
ohh come on dont come and say that is an intestine shot ! jesus that deer has its intestines going for his head or what?»?? its another prove that the hitboxes are way off sometimes !
Did a slight test. I think it is just the angle couple with how far back it hit. The top one in the above shot is an intestine and looks similarly placed, the lower one is a lung.
if that shot was perpendicular to the animal and really if it was angling forward, that probably would have hit lung. That arrow is clearly angling back and it enters the body at the back edge of the lung. It is angling back and missing the lung and hitting stomach, liver or intestine. YOU MISSED.
But that's not to say that the hit boxes are off. Just shoot a deer head on in the chest and read the 'body" blood trail.
