I know this of course. I don't see what the difference is to moving to the side.beamstas wrote:Look in the direction you want to move and hold w..Flanker305 wrote:Why? Neither do i, just answering the question maybe OP is under the impression animals notice sideways movement more than forwards / backwards , which is true in reality but im not sure if its coded into the game.Flanker305 wrote:I know this of course. Tip For A Bear Too Far Competition
I like to do this competition. One of my favorite longshot competition.
Every week, I see so many hunter sign up for this competition.
But not much do it successfully.
Every hunter know the way how to place the bait barrel.
So many hunters know how to set the stand and find the right coordinates.
But not much do it successfully.
When I start the hunt for this competition, first .. I go to check the barrel.
When I spot there is a bear around the bait barrel...
I walk to the tripod stand ( WALKING ).....climb and aim.
When I lost the first chance to make the shot, I walk closer to the barrel and spot again...
If I saw the bear still there.... I walk back to the tripod stand again.
and always do the same if I lost the 2nd, 3rd... chance.
I never RUN back to the tripod.
Maybe this will different with another hunter... but, that's all I do.
Hope you all success for next competition.
Happy hunting and sorry for my English.

Re: Tip of the week [NOMINATE]
Thanks for your tips hunters, great stuff. It's getting quite crowded in this thread, if it goes like this, we might consider creating a more user-friendly repository for storing all your gems or maybe even somehow incorporating them into the game

When hunting with bow you can hold the left mouse button down for a more natural release

CHOSEN AS THE TIP OF THE WEEK
When calling animals, try to make them pass before you shoot. Then they will hopefully flee in a different direction instead of fleeing to where they came from causing a mix of old and new tracks. This is especially useful when you spot or hear a animal close to you and it might have been roaming there for some time, leaving a lots of tracks.

Quite often the Huntersmate give a false cone in that the cone points way to the right or left of the path you have been following. Often I ignore those sharp turns and keep heading in the same general direction, which proves successful in many cases.

You can refresh the information in the launcher (for example after a bait refill or the placement of a deployable) by clicking on the white theHunter logo in the top left corner.

That's a great tip!
I always restarted the launcher. But quite frankly, I'd expect it to auto-refresh the latest when one presses "hunt now"
