I fully agree with FR_Bugs, stancomputerhunter, Pupic and JMMax, because the competition at its root is really cool, but the way it's split the punctuation categories, is what discourages me. This seems to me to have been based on the old hunterscore system, and is out of the blue in my view. I may be wrong, but the little experience I have at stake makes me believe it. And also to the fact that many animals in a few days, where some animals due to their low scores in the overall result, are practically irrelevant, serve only to complete the table, and not excite the hunter to look for a bigger one; I cite examples of coyotes, bears, wolves, etc. I hope my criticisms are understood as constructive and not the other way round, because it is not in vain that I have so many hours in this game.

For me it is impossible to achieve a good score with so many animals in so few days, with so many good players, and then, I have never managed a competition (if, one or two I think ), so I pass my turn. Too bad there are no missions ...

JMMax wrote:Nice Comp. But with the change to the Hunter Score it seems like the divisions for these competitions are too small.

Division 7 - less than 100 HS... Since the new HS is now rewarded for every gun kill, harvest and collectable until you max them out, a brand new hunter could shoot 50 animals to be eligible for Division 6.
Division 6 - 101 -250
Division 5 - 251 - 500
Division 4 - 501 -1000
Division 3 - 1001 -2500
Division 2 - 2501 - 5000
Division 1 - 5001 - 10000
Elite - over 10001

Seems like this caters to the new hunters and no respect to the higher HS. I recently got a friend playing and it has only taken him a few months to reach 5000 HS which puts him in Division 1. 5000 HS is the time when you get your last Upgrade for free. I don't remember what it was before the HS change but I was still in Division 1 last year after playing for a few years. Seems like there will be very limited number in the lower divisions and the bulk in D1 and Elite.

Wouldn't this be better if the Elite was the top 500 HS or a minimum of 20001 and decrease from there for the other division? It wouldn't make any difference for me as I would be in Elite regardless, just seems a little unfair to put the lower less experienced in the higher divisions while making the lower divisions small enough that one could enter more than 1 division before the comp ends.
I have brought this up time and time again. Ignored. The Elite division has a spread of 80,000 HS. The most any other one has is 5000, Div 1, then it drops to 2500. What do you think the chances are of finding and tracking a trophy animal when you are 20/20 on only 4 or 5 of 32 species, while the guys with 50,000+ likely have 20/20 on EVERY species. A decided advantage. Even with the screwed up spotting, they will have far more opportunities. Unfair. Unfair. Unfair.

well I can see from the table that there is a small difference of punctuation between the first divisions which leads one to believe that some will participate in 2 or even 3 divisions

A rabbit-hog-boar competition?

Thanks, but I'm not interested, good luck to those who joined. ;)

I agree with the points above.
- The separation into the different categories make no sense. The "Elite" category has almost as many players as all others together.
- The harvest value turns me away right away.
- The non-normalized scores have been criticized every time. Taking out the waterfowl is just a crutch but does not fix the issue.

This event has always been competition only. We have other events throughout the year that feature both missions and competitions or missions only. The Halloween event a couple of weeks ago was an example of the latter.

Good feedback, thank you very much. This has been an oversight on our part, and we will make sure to tweak to make the division better and fairer for the next time.

It's ok to skip this promotion if it's not to your liking :) We have plenty of those.

This has always been the format of this event - all available animals (this year we skipped a few) in one week. That's why it's called "madness" ;) Sure, this event not for ever hunter, bit hopefully some of us will see it as a nice reason to try going after animals they don't usually hunt.

Even "madness" should have some limits ... :) One specie per working day - is ok for part-time players. Its doable with 1-3 hours play. More species 4-5 species per working day (not weekends) - is fun only for hunters which can play 10-20 hours per day.

Another issues is - how to check our score in middle of the competition based on 32 species (and which species are still missing). If during half or more time of comeptition period (mayby 5-6 on 7 days - as last year )- no any score on leaderboard - its loosing its comeptition "spirit" in my opinion.

The idea of "madness" is nice but realisation need adjustment. Mayby you can share "madness" by reserves instead hunterscore (one reserve per player) - then during one week 5-7 species to kill ?
